Dana Hlaváčková, Jakub Machura, and Hana Žižková from our institute obtained the European Open Science project OSKARS. Their project, Opravidlo 2.0, is co-financed with support from the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Program.
Project Summary:
The aim of the Opravidlo 2.0 project is to improve and fully operationalize the beta version of an online proofreading service for the Czech language, designed to enhance communication by ensuring high-quality text corrections through precise spelling, grammar, and typographical corrections. Although the current system demonstrates high accuracy, it has limited coverage. In version 2.0, we will address this shortcoming by integrating artificial intelligence (AI). Neural network models will be developed within the project to work alongside existing language rules, improving the overall efficiency of the tool. Additionally, the service will be expanded to support multiple languages in the user interface, which will aid the integration of foreigners into Czech society and contribute to open science by releasing datasets and methodologies for broader linguistic and educational use.
The selection report for the project can also be read on the OSKARS website.
The project is also introduced in a short video.
We congratulate our colleagues on obtaining the project.
