The team of the project Behavior of Clitics in Czech and Slovenian has published a new scholarly volume on Czech clitics called Czech Clitics: New Insights and Perspectives.
The book offers several perspectives on how clitics behave in Czech: where they appear in the sentence, how they are ordered, how they relate to pronunciation, and what questions they raise for contemporary linguistics. The individual chapters address, among other topics, the ordering of clitics, their phonological properties, the historical development of selected constructions, and the reflexive marker se.
The publication was authored by Petr Karlík, Lukáš Žoha, Anna Poĺomská, Martin Březina, Pavel Caha, Lucie Taraldsen Medová, and Markéta Ziková.
The programme of the international workshop Government Phonology Round Table 2026 (GPRT 2026), which will take place at the Department of Czech Language, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, on 11–13 June 2026, has now been published.
Students of the Department of Czech Language are presenting their research at domestic and international conferences and workshops, with contributions featured in the USA, France, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
